چکیده

1. In vitro assays provide a sensitive and economic tool to evaluate dietary effects, but have limitations. In this study, the effect of phytase supplementation on solubility, and presumed availability, of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) in soybean meal (SBM) and rapeseed meal (RSM) based diets was evaluated both in situ and by a 2-step in vitro digestion assay that simulated the gastric and small intestine (SI) phases of digestion. 2. Comparison of the in vitro findings to in situ findings was used to evaluate the in vitro assay. Ross 308 broilers (n = 192) were fed one of 6 SBM or RSM diets supplemented with 0, 500 or 5000 FTU/kg phytase from 0 to 28 d. The 6 diets and raw SBM and RSM were exposed to a two-step in vitro assay. Ca and P solubility and pH in the gizzard and jejunal digesta and in the gastric and SI phase of in vitro digestion were measured. 3. Both in vitro and in situ analysis detected that Ca solubility was lowest (P < 0.05) when diets were supplemented with 500 FTU/kg phytase, compared to the control diets and diets supplemented with 5000 FTU/kg phytase. Phosphorus solubility increased (P < 0.05) with increasing phytase level. Both methods also identified that mineral solubility plateaus in the

P122 Effects of phytase supplementation on ileal digestibility of phytate phosphorus and total phosphorus of feed ingredients for broiler chickens

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of a heat stable phytase derived from Citrobacter braakii on true digestibility of P and on phytate dephosphorylation at the terminal ileum segment in broiler chickens. Four semi-synthetic diets, each containing either wheat, maize, soybean meal or rapeseed meal as the only source of phosphorus and calcium were supplemented with microbial phytase at 1000 ...

Influence of Phytase on Tibia Bone Characteristics of Broiler Quail Fed on Corn-Soybean Meal Diets

BACKGROUND: Exogenous phytase enhances the utilization of plant phytate phosphorus in poultry. OBJECTIVES: In the present study the effects of exogenous phytase was investigated on tibia bone characteristics of white quail. METHODS: In a 2x2 factorial arrangement, eighty, 11-day old unsexed chicks were randomly divided into 4 treatments of 20 replicates. All birds received one of four experimen...

Efficacy of phytase supplementation in improving mineral digestibility in Labeo rohita fingerlings fed on canola meal-based diets

A feeding trial of ten weeks was conducted to evaluate the effect of microbial phytase supplementation on mineral digestibility in Labeo rohita fingerlings fed on canola meal-based diets. The experiment consisted of a reference diet and a basal diet. The reference diet was prepared according to the requirements of L. rohita and was used as a standard diet. The basal diet was made by replacing 3...

Effect of Microbial Phytase in Soybean Meal Based Broiler Diets Containing Low Phosphorous

A six wk feeding experiment was conducted with d-old four hundred broiler chicks (Ven Cobb) to determine the effects of microbial phytase (Allzyme) supplementation in soybean meal based broiler diet containing low phosphorous. These birds were randomly divided into four dietary treatment groups of 100 broilers each. Each treatment group was further sub-divided into five replicates of 25 broiler...

Effect of commercial phytase (SMIZYME PHYTASE) in diets containing different levels of soybean meal on growth and carcass compositions of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792)

This study aimed to investigate the effect of commercial phytase (SMIZYME PHYTASE) between diets containing 20 and 40 percent soybean meal on growth and body composition of rainbow trout. For this experiment, 300 Rainbow trout with an average initial weight of 6.5 ± 0.43 g were randomly distributed in 18 aquariums (15 fish per tank). Three replicates per treatment were considered. The fish were...
